the cutting of paper

Monday night, Meredith and I found ourselves at home alone. Looking for something to do, I thought of when I was a young kid we always used to make a paper chain that would be used to count down the days until Christmas. Each day we would tear a link off watching the colorful chain grow smaller and smaller until it was down to the very last one. It was always the highlight to my day when I got to tear off another link. It meant that Christmas was getting closer.

Remembering this, I decided that Meredith and I should start this tradition again. We gather out supplies of colored paper, markers and tape and sat for an hour or so listening to christmas music and cutting out stripes of paper. It was the prefect activity to do on a quite evening and the result was a colorful chain waiting to be torn apart as we count down to Christmas.
