the wind blew through out fingers. the temperatures fluctuated. the weeks seemed to move slowly. the air smelled of rain. jackets were zipped up one day and then left in the dorm rooms the next. it was winter one day, and spring the next.

new books were opened. pencil tips were broken. homework was assigned. it was the start of second semester. it was the start of round two.

things began to change. maybe for a while, maybe forever. friend bonds tightened. things could only go up from here.

the road to tulsa was driven. the walls were covered in paint. the streets were lined with people. the shops held unknown treasures. the sky held all the answers. the ground held all the songs.

we learned to live free in january. and january learned to break free of the stereotype.

"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness."
--- Kurt Vonnegut
