home again

I had mixed feelings about coming home.
After all, camp is basically a second home to me.
But after two weeks of not sleeping in my own
bed and taking a shower with the bugs, part of me
was ready.... and yet part of me wasn't.

The environment of camp is something I haven't been
able to find anywhere else. The nature noises, starry
skies and that constant outdoors smell is just so perfect.

Of course things like that can only last for a short while.
Eventually you have to come back to the normal life.
The busy and hectic life. Camp was God filled, amazing,
awesome and fantastic all at once. Relationships grew
stronger and new ones were formed. It was beautiful.

I'm so excited to share camp photos with you this coming
week. For now, pictures from the past weekend, after camp.

the weekend.

The weekend started off with a movie night. With Thor being the movie of choice. I'm a pretty big superhero fan and Thor was the one movie I hadn't seen out of the avengers, so naturally, I had to watch it! Saturday was filled with shopping and blog designing. Sunday was just the normal trip to the library and church.

I really love the weekend. It's that "break" from the week that you really need. It also rained most of the weekend which I loved. It made for fantastic sweatshirt weather.

How was your weekend?

ON THE DESIGN:
I've been working on my brand/style of my blog for a few weeks now. The recent changes were results from that. Post on this coming up later this week.

Bipolar Weather

caught these two at the library on friday.

Oh, the many faces of Megan.

Typical Sunday afternoon.

Friday morning as I headed out the door to go to work, I was greeted with a fresh blanket of snow on the ground. It was quite surprising and I was rather excited about it because we haven't had a lot of snow around here, at least not a really good snow that covers the ground completely.
This snow was special though, this snow was the kind that had been plastered on to the trees. It made the whole world look like a white canvas, just waiting for colors to pop up.
Then, just like that, Sunday came it was all gone and we had hit a high of 45 plus. The snow was gone, the sun was out and the world was warming up again.
If you've had the same type of winter as we have, you should know that this has been the norm all winter. Snow fall, then a warm day a couple of days later and it all melts. Bipolar I tell you. Bipolar.
And now, we have had a drizzling rain all day and a forecast of snow for tomorrow.

In other news:
+Sunday was a pretty nice day and megan and I got to walk around a bit in Iowa City taking some pictures.
+I'm almost finish with the the Hunger Games (book one). Someone just slap me for not finishing it sooner. Its so good! I have such a hard time putting it down! Less than a month until the midnight premiere!
+Instagram is awesome. the end.

How has your week been so far?

Recap: Weekend

{Yes I'm aware its tuesday... I can still do a weekend post okay? :) }

Friday Night. Friday night Megan and I had a lovely evening laughing at a tv show and eating way to much popcorn. It was so nice to just relax and chill, while having fun as well!

Foggy Mornings. I love fog. Especially in the mornings. Saturday was on of those mornings.

Musical. One thing you should know about me is that, I absolutely love love LOVE theatre productions, especially if they are musicals. This weekend, some of my friends and I went to see Tom Sawyer: the musical. Oh my goodness. Possibly the best thing I've ever seen. It was so good. so good. Cast was great, the live music was great. My heart will be happy for a while. Not to mention, I still have the songs that they sang stuck in my head.

Memories. I discovered a piece from my childhood at the library on sunday. Did any of you ever read the "Boxcar Children" when you were younger? Oh my goodness. If you didn't, you missed out. I loved those books. Read many of them three or four times. In order to complete your childhood, you should go read the first four. Its required.

Library. Libraries just make me happy. Every Sunday we take a trip down the the library and spend a couple of hours there. The smell of books and the vast amounts literature. Its so fantastic. I of course headed to the Mark Twain section because after watching that amazing play, I wanted to read the book naturally!

Downtown. I love taking pictures of the city. Sunday afternoon I got the perfect opportunity to do just that. I was lovely. People walked around, kids playing, leaves blowing... ah yes. It was lovely indeed.

How was your weekend? Do anything fun?
